Cross-language transcription based search now available at linguos.com

Linguos now supports cross-language search. based on transcription. Enter a search term in any of the supported languages and retrieve results in any target language.

For example, you could enter a term Калифорния in the Cyrillic alphabet, select Hindi as your target language and retrieve Hindi results for केलिफोर्निया .

This is in early beta. Check it out at

For those of you interested in commercial options, Linguos is available as a library/platform that can be plugged into your own corpora and indexes. Contact feedback@linguos.com for more information.

A public API is also available and will be published if there is interest.

Welcome to the Linguos blog.

This blog is aimed at discussing issues involving the non-English web. Primary focus will be on search.

http://www.linguos.com is a project aimed at solving some of the non-English search problems. Linguos provides a transliteration/transcription based search. Select a language, enter your queries using your English keyboards, spelling terms as they sound (not as they mean).
